President Prabowo Subianto demonstrates the Government’s strong commitment to ensure the effectiveness of post-disaster recovery efforts on the field. Upon arriving in South Tapanuli, the President directly inspected the construction of the Garoga River Bailey Bridge in Batang Toru district on Wednesday (12/31).
He ensured the acceleration of the completion of the vital connecting infrastructures for people’s mobility and logistics distribution in the post-disaster areas.
The inspection was conducted to oversee the acceleration of the completion of the connecting infrastructures which play a vital role in people’s mobility and inter-regional logistics distribution. The Garoga River Bailey Bridge, built 44 meters long, serves as a temporary yet strategic solution to replace the old bridge damaged by natural disasters cutting off local residents’ economic access.
The bridge, constructed by the Combat Engineer Detachment (Denzipur) in collaboration with the Directorate General of Highway Development of the Ministry of Public Works, is designed to withstand loads of up to 25 tons. It is expected to restore main connectivity between Central Tapanuli and South Tapanuli, while smoothing the flow of goods, services, and people’s social activities.
On that occasion, President Prabowo also talked with the workers and local residents to directly hear their aspirations and real conditions on the field. He ensured that every construction stage proceeds according to safety standards and the established timelines.
This inspection reflects the Government’s attention to accelerating infrastructure recovery in the region. The President’s presence at the site symbolizes the state’s presence that not only implements plans from the central government but also directly ensures that people’s basic needs are fulfilled and life can return to normal.
