President Prabowo Subianto, on Thursday (01/01), inspected the construction site of the Danantara housing project, a government-led temporary housing program for disaster-affected communities, in Aceh Tamiang regency, Aceh province, to ensure the accelerated development of adequate housing as part of post-disaster recovery efforts in the region.
Upon arrival at the site, President Prabowo inspected 4.5×4.5-meter housing units equipped with basic facilities to support residents’ daily needs, including beds, electric fans, cupboards, internet access, and electricity connections.
The Danantara housing project aims to provide a temporary and safe shelter for affected communities during the rehabilitation and reconstruction process. Providing adequate housing is one of the Government’s priorities to support the community in resuming their day-to-day activities.
The housing construction began on December 24, 2025. In the initial phase, 600 housing units were built in Kampung Simpang 4, Karang Baru district.
The Government, through Danantara, plans to develop 15,000 housing units over three months in the disaster-affected areas of Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. This housing program is expected to accelerate the social and economic recovery of communities in the affected areas.
In addition to these basic facilities, the Danantara residential housing complex is also equipped with communal spaces. The communal facilities include shared kitchens, toilets, children’s playgrounds, and prayer rooms for worship and social interaction.
The first phase of the development is a collaborative effort between seven state-owned enterprises (SOEs). This collaboration reflects the Government and SOEs’ commitment to providing immediate and sustainable solutions for disaster-affected communities in various regions.
