President Prabowo Subianto Thursday (10/15) inaugurated General Tandyo Budi Revita as Chief of Staff of the Army of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) at the State Palace in Jakarta.

The inauguration was based on Decree of President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 106/TNI of 2026 on Dismissal and Appointment of Chief of Staff of the Army.

During the inauguration ceremony, President Prabowo led General Tandyo to take the oath of office.

“I will devote myself to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia that upholds Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, and execute all laws and regulations in the fairest manner. That in performing my duties, I will adhere to a professional code of conduct with full accountability. That I will uphold the Sapta Marga (TNI’s seven principles) and the soldier’s oath,” the President said, and General Tandyo recited the oath.

The ceremony continued with the signing of the official minutes of the oath-taking ceremony, witnessed by state officials and guests.

A seasoned high-ranking army officer who graduated from the Military Academy in 1991, General Tandyo succeeded General Maruli Simanjuntak as Army Chief of Staff after General Maruli was promoted to Vice Commander of the TNI and appointed as Head of the National Border and Remote Areas Management Agency.

Following his inauguration, General Tandyo affirmed his commitment to accelerating the implementation of the Government’s strategic programs involving the Army.

According to General Tandyo, the Army’s main concerns are the Government’s priority programs, including the Red-and-White Village/Sub-district Cooperatives (KDKMP), People’s Schools for students from low-income families, and food security efforts.

“It is the Army’s duty to accelerate [the Government’s programs], especially the operations of KDKMP, People’s Schools, and food security. We will complete the tasks assigned by the President,” he said in a press statement after the inauguration ceremony. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (DH/MMB)
