President Prabowo Subianto attended Special Session of the 2024 Supreme Court Annual Report held at Supreme Court Building, Jakarta, on Wednesday (February 19, 2025). In his remarks, President Prabowo extended his appreciation to all members of justice institutions for their role in upholding laws in Indonesia.

“I would like to pay my respect and show appreciation to all members of Indonesian justice institutions. I admit that now I truly realize and understand how heavy the burden borne by all of you, Ladies and Gentlemen, members of the justice institutions,” he said.

The Head of State emphasized that a successful country depends on the prevailing law system. President Prabowo also mentioned that a nation’s life sustainability also depends on the country’s law enforcement.

“Law is the guarantee of justice, and justice is not only the right of every citizen. Justice is every citizen’s demand. Therefore, I really appreciate it,” he said firmly.

Therefore, President Prabowo said that he respects all judges in Indonesia who have become the forefront in providing justice to the people. He emphasized that Indonesian people put their hope on the judges to seek justice.

“Our people hope for justice. Our people, let alone the weakest, poorest, and the most vulnerable ones, make the judges their last resort in looking for justice,” he further continued.

During the session, the President also highlighted the satisfaction level of the people on the courts’ decisions that need to be improved. The Head of State reminded the judges to keep maintaining integrity, to protect the people, and to uphold the laws fairly and indiscriminately.

“I believe, and on behalf of the Indonesian people, I call on the judges to reflect the values you promote. Be the judges with integrity, who protect people, provide justice, uphold justice for all Indonesian people indiscriminately,” President Prabowo said.

Concluding his remarks, the President stressed that in a democratic system, judicative, legislative, and executive powers are at the same level. Therefore, a judge should be bold in upholding the truth, appreciating honesty, and participating in corruption eradication.

“Let us work at our best for our children and the next generation,” he stated. (Bureau of Press, Media, and Information of Presidential Secretariat/ABD)(AW/MUR)
