President Prabowo Subianto officially inaugurated the electric commercial vehicle assembly plant of PT VKTR Sakti Industries in Magelang regency, Central Java province, on Thursday (04/09). The inauguration represents a significant milestone in strengthening the national electric vehicle (EV) industry and supporting Indonesia’s transition toward clean energy.

Upon arrival, the President conducted a direct inspection of various EV produced at the facility. The inspection included several units such as a 12-meter electric bus used by DAMRI for TransJakarta services, an 8-meter electric bus for Trans Semarang operations, as well as Tri Sakti bus models and components.

In addition, the President reviewed industrial EV, including electric forklifts, electric transporters utilized by PT Perhutani Alam Wisata, and electric heavy-duty trucks operated by PT Semen Indonesia Logistik.

The inspection was guided by VKTR’s President Commissioner, Anindya Novyan Bakrie, and accompanied by the company’s President Director, Anindra Ardiansyah Bakrie, who provided an overview of the plant’s technological capabilities and production capacity.

Following the inspection, the President proceeded to the main venue of the inauguration ceremony. The program included the national anthem Indonesia Raya, a prayer session, remarks from VKTR leadership, a launch video presentation, and the President’s official address.

“By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, today on Thursday April 9, 2026, I, President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, hereby inaugurate the VKTR Electric Commercial Vehicle Assembly Plant,” the President declared. The ceremony was marked by the sounding of a siren and the signing of a commemorative plaque.

This inauguration goes beyond the launch of an industrial facility; it represents a strategic step in advancing downstream industrialization, reducing dependence on imported fossil fuels, and accelerating Indonesia’s transition toward energy sovereignty. The Government reaffirmed its commitment to promoting environmentally friendly modern transportation solutions while generating employment opportunities and increasing domestic value-added.
