President Prabowo Subianto, on Thursday (08/13), officially launched the National Electric Motorcycle (MoLiNas) alongside its supporting ecosystem at the ALVA Production Facility in Cikarang, Bekasi regency, West Java province. The launch of MoLiNas marked Indonesia’s strategic milestone in providing increasingly affordable and high-quality mobility, while strengthening its national industry, technology, energy resilience, and domestic added value.

Upon arrival at the venue, President Prabowo inspected the electric motorcycle manufacturing process. Afterwards, the President proceeded to the expo area to inspect the booths exhibiting electronic vehicle (EV) ecosystems and to sign a commemorative plaque confirming ALVA’s production of 20,000 units.

In his report, Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), as well as Head of BPI Danantara (sovereign wealth fund), Rosan Roeslani, stated that the launch of MoLiNas represents an important and strategic step in strengthening national economic independence, which is in line with President Prabowo’s directives for Indonesia to achieve self-reliance and stand on its own feet in conducting all economic activities.

“Today’s event is profoundly important and highly strategic because, in accordance with the President’s directives, we must be independent, self-reliant, and stand on our own feet in every economic activity conducted in Indonesia,” Rosan stated.

Rosan noted that the development of MoLiNas was driven by collaboration and synergy among the Government, state-owned enterprises (SOEs), and national entrepreneurs and companies. According to him, this joint collaboration demonstrates the readiness of domestic stakeholders to advance the development of MoLiNas.

“MoLiNas results from collaboration and synergy between the Government, state-owned enterprises (SOEs), and national entrepreneurs and companies, in our efforts to bolster our self-reliance. As we can see, all the essential ingredients and the recipe for our national electric motorcycle now are sourced locally in Indonesia,” Rosan added.

In his remarks, President Prabowo emphasized that the development of MoLinas serves as a tangible manifestation of collaboration among the nation’s various elements in building national self-reliance. He believed that the synergy joining the private sector, SOEs, the business community, and academia plays a pivotal role in strengthening Indonesia’s capacity to master and advance science and technology.

“Today is a very important day. Here, I would like to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation to all stakeholders including private enterprises, entrepreneurs, businesspeople, SOEs, academic communities who have produced experts forming the core of research and development,” President Prabowo stated.

President Prabowo further considered the collaboration realized through the development of MoLiNas as a good example of the spirit of “Indonesia Incorporated”. He emphasized that a nation’s success in the modern era is fundamentally defined by its capability to master science and technology and harness them to support continuity of its national life.

“In my view, today’s inauguration stands as a good example of what I call ‘Indonesia Incorporated’. In this modern era, a nation’s success lies in its ability to master science and technology to sustain its national life. Only then can a country or a nation be deemed successful,” he declared.

The launch of the national electric motorcycle reaffirms the direction of national industrial transformation. Indonesia aspires not merely to serve as a market for global technological advancement, but also to emerge as a nation capable of mastering technology, building its own industries, and manufacturing high-value products through its national strengths.

Through the spirit of ‘Indonesia Incorporated’, MoLiNas aims to stand as a symbol of national industrial revival and a step toward an increasingly self-reliant Indonesia across technology, energy, and the economy. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (NST/TM)
