President Prabowo Leads Inauguration Ceremony for 1,177 Young TNI, Polri Officers

President Prabowo Subianto led the 2026 Prasetya Perwira (Inauguration and Swearing-in) Ceremony for young officers of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri), held at the front yard of the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. During the ceremony on Wednesday (7/22), a total of 1,177 prospective young officers were officially inaugurated, consisting of 512 graduates of the Military Academy, 229 graduates of the Naval Academy, 154 graduates of the Air Force Academy, and 282 graduates of the Police Academy.

The ceremony began with a report presented by the Ceremony Officer Brigadier General Arynovian Hany Sampurno to President Prabowo as the Ceremony Inspector, before the latter entered the ceremony venue. Following the national salute, the President received a report from Colonel Inf. Mario Christian Noya who served as the ceremony’s commander.

The inauguration procession began with the reading out of Decrees of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 69/TNI of 2026 and Number 70/Polri of 2026 on the Appointment of Cadets from the TNI Academy and the Police Academy to be TNI and Polri Officers by the Military Secretary to the President, Major General Wahyu Yudhayana.

Then, the President conferred officer rank insignia as a symbol of recognition for academic achievement and leadership on four young officers who deserved the Adhi Makayasa (prestigious award for the best graduate). The four young officers were:

  1. First Lieutenant Inf. Calvin Tidar Sakti from Military Academy;
  2. First Lieutenant (P) Muhammad Rizqi Wira Utama Baihaqi Putra from Naval Academy;
  3. First Lieutenant Yehezkiel Bonaventura Yudaniarman from Air Force Academy; and
  4. First Lieutenant Harindra Arsandho Tegarbaja from Police Academy.

Afterward, four prospective young officers from various religious backgrounds stepped forward to represent their colleagues in the officers’ oath-taking ceremony. The President personally led the oath-taking ceremony.

“That I will fulfill my obligations as an officer to the best of my ability towards the Indonesian nation and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia,” said President Prabowo, dictating the oath of the TNI and Polri officers.

In his remarks, President Prabowo congratulated the young officers on their inauguration. He said today’s inauguration is not the end, but instead, the beginning of serving the nation, state, and the Indonesian people.

“On this auspicious day, on my own behalf, on behalf of the Government, on behalf of the people, nation, and state, I extend my congratulations to all of you who have been officially appointed as TNI and Polri officers in 2026. Today is not just a ceremony, today is not the finish line, today is the beginning of a service to the nation and state. You have sworn to give your lives for the nation, state, and people of Indonesia, if necessary,” he said.

The ceremony concluded with a report from the ceremony commander to the ceremony inspector, marking the conclusion of the entire procession. The ceremony then continued with a military salute and concluded with a national salute. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (JAS/TM)
