President Prabowo Leads Meeting at Kertanegara, Discussing Food Security, Improvements to Free Nutritious Meals

President Prabowo Subianto on Sunday evening (09/28) led a meeting with a number of the Red-White Cabinet ministers at his residence, Kertanegara, Jakarta. The two-hour meeting was aimed at ensuring the government’s priority programs were on track and well-targeted.

The meeting was held immediately following his overseas visits and during the weekend, showing President Prabowo’s commitment to monitoring the government programs.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, in his written statement, noted that one of the main topics discussed was the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program. “One of the main topics discussed was the MBG program, particularly related to the best steps to implement it and evaluations needed to ensure that the program runs well, on track, and well-targeted,” wrote the Cabinet Secretary.

He also mentioned that President Prabowo gave a detailed and technical instruction during the meeting. “President Prabowo gave detailed and technical guidance, including matters related to control, procedures, and cleanliness,” the Cabinet Secretary stated.

Besides MBG program, the Cabinet Secretary also noted other strategic programs discussed in the meeting, including food security, health, energy, marine affairs, the Fisher Village program, Village Cooperatives, and the North Coast Sea Wall of Java.

According to him, the Minister of Agriculture and the Head of the State Logistics Agency reported that national rice reserves are sufficient. Meanwhile, the Minister of Health stated that the free medical check-up program has reached 36 million people.
