President Prabowo Meets Former President Megawati to Express Condolences on the Passing of Her Younger Brother Guruh Soekarnoputra

President Prabowo Subianto, Monday evening (09/28), expressed his condolences on the passing of Mohammad Guruh Irianto Soekarnoputra, at the residence of the Indonesia’s fifth president Megawati Soekarnoputri in Jakarta.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated in his written statement that Guruh Soekarnoputra is the youngest son of the Indonesia’s first President Soekarno, and the younger brother of Indonesia’s fifth President Megawati Soekarnoputri.

“President Prabowo Subianto [visited] the residence of Indonesia’s fifth president Megawati Soekarnoputri in Jakarta to express his condolences on the passing of Mohammad Guruh Irianto Soekarnoputra, the youngest son of the first president Soekarno and the younger brother of the fifth president Megawati Soekarnoputri,” he stated.

In the mournful atmosphere, President Prabowo expressed his condolences and paid his final respects to the extended family of the late Guruh Soekarnoputra. His presence served as a form of respect for the [departed soul] and the grieving family.

“On that occasion, President Prabowo expressed his condolences and respect to the grieving family,” he added.

Furthermore, the Cabinet Secretary not only offered prayers for the late Guruh Soekarnoputra to find the best place in the sight of God Almighty, but also prayed for the grieving family to be granted the strength to face their grief.

Accompanying President Prabowo at the residence of Megawati were Vice Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (NST/AW)
