President Prabowo Subianto on Wednesday (12/10) met with President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin Palace, Moscow, Russia. The meeting marked a significant step in strengthening comprehensive strategic relations between the two countries amid rapidly shifting global geopolitical dynamics.
President Prabowo arrived at the Kremlin complex at midday local time and received an official welcome from senior Russian officials, including Commandant of the Moscow Kremlin Sergey Udovenko and Vice Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko. The reception reflected Indonesia’s position as an important partner in Russia’s foreign policy, particularly in the Indo-Pacific region.
Before formal talks began, President Putin greeted President Prabowo with a warm handshake. The two leaders exchanged brief remarks before proceeding to a photo session, a moment that underscored their close and respectful personal rapport.
The agenda continued with a tête-à-tête meeting between the two leaders. The intensive discussion covered strategic issues and regional stability. The one-on-one meeting signaled a high level of trust between the leaders in addressing long-term interests of both countries.
President Putin then hosted a luncheon in honor of President Prabowo and the Indonesian delegation. The atmosphere was warm and cordial, highlighting Russia’s seriousness in deepening its partnership with Indonesia across various sectors.
President Prabowo’s visit to Russia became one of Indonesia’s most important diplomatic agendas toward the end of the year. The meeting at the Kremlin is expected to strengthen bilateral coordination and open wider avenues for strategic cooperation, both in facing regional challenges in the Indo-Pacific and responding to increasingly complex global developments.
