President Prabowo Subianto received a visit from former Australian Prime Minister Paul Keating at his hotel in Sydney on Wednesday (11/12).

The meeting discussed multiple strategic issues in international relations, economics, and regional geoeconomics and geopolitics.

Following the meeting, President Prabowo said that Keating was a figure with a keen insight into global dynamics.

“He is highly experienced. His thoughts are very clear. He has a lot of experience, so I would say that I gained quite a few insights from him,” he said in his press statement.

For the record, the meeting took place during President Prabowo’s state visit to Australia. The Head of State underscored that Indonesia and Australia have a common interest to strengthen their mutually beneficial bilateral relation.

“We must realize that we are neighbors, and Indonesia has good relations with Australia and vice versa. If we cooperate well in all sectors, it will bring great benefits for both countries and our region,” he remarked. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (DH/LW)
