Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto met with Russian President Vladimir Putin during his visit to Beijing for the 80th Anniversary of China’s Victory in the War of Resistance on September 3, 2025. The meeting focused on strengthening strategic cooperation between Indonesia and Russia.

In a written statement, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya announced that, alongside attending a parade with 26 world leaders, President Prabowo also took the opportunity to meet directly with President Putin. During their cordial meeting, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen cooperation across various sectors, with a particular focus on the economy and investment.

“In addition to attending the event, President Prabowo held exclusive meetings with President Xi Jinping of China and Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss and advance ongoing economic investment partnerships between Indonesia and the respective countries,” stated Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy also added that President Prabowo’s visit to Beijing was very brief. After completing all his scheduled engagements, the Head of State immediately returned to Jakarta and is scheduled to arrive tonight.
