President Prabowo Subianto Thursday (06/19) met with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in a warm and cordial atmosphere at the Konstantinovsky Palace in St. Petersburg.

The meeting began with a warm welcome and a firm handshake, marking a significant diplomatic moment between the two nations.

In his introductory remarks, President Putin expressed pleasure at meeting President Prabowo again in St. Petersburg. The two leaders had previously met in Moscow prior to President-elect Prabowo’s official inauguration as President of Indonesia.

“We are very pleased to meet with Mr. President here. Welcome,” President Putin said.

In response, President Prabowo expressed appreciation for the warm reception extended by the Russian government to him and the delegation. The Head of State also thanked President Putin for inviting him as a guest of honor at the 2025 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

“Your Excellency President Putin, I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation for this invitation today, and for the warm welcome extended to me and my delegation,” he said.

After the bilateral meeting, the two leaders are scheduled to participate in an extended luncheon with their respective delegations. This gathering reflects Indonesia and Russia’s shared commitment to further strengthening their long-standing strategic partnership and fostering deeper, more tangible cooperation in the future.
