On the sidelines of his working visit to the United States, President Prabowo Subianto Wednesday (11/13) had a meeting with Secretary of Defense of the United States Lloyd Austin in Washington, D.C.

“We have a good relationship. He and I have worked together for a long time,” President Prabowo said.

According to the President, the meeting aimed to maintain and increase defense cooperation between Indonesia and the US, as well as to affirm commitment of the two countries in facing global security challenges.

“We discussed current issues, cooperation between the two countries, as well as exchanged information and views. I think that’s the highlight (of the discussion),” the Head of State said.

As defense relations of the two countries continue to grow, Indonesia and the US are expected to be more solid in overcoming security threats, both in the Asia-Pacific region and at the international level. (BPMI Presidential Secretariat/DNS) (GWH/MMB)
