President Prabowo Monitors Earthquake Response in Nagekeo Regency, E. Nusa Tenggara Province

To directly monitor disaster response and ensure the smooth distribution of government assistance, President Prabowo Subianto on Wednesday (08/26) visited Nagekeo, a regency in East Nusa Tenggara province, 30 kilometers from the epicenter of the magnitude 7.7 earthquake that struck on August 15.

The President led a meeting at the Earthquake Management Post in Infantry Battalion Wakanga Mere/834 Development Territory, where he received reports on the development of post-disaster management efforts.

“I would like to express my appreciation to you. Once again, make a list of your troops who have worked hard, of your people who have worked hard, have worked properly, and made sacrifices,” he said.

During the visit, the President is set to visit an evacuation center on Berdikari Field to greet local communities and inquire about their needs.

Joining the President in his working visit to Nagekeo are Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Chief of the Indonesian National Police Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Deputy Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces General Tandyo Budi Revita.
