President Prabowo: Multi-Sector Synergy is Key to Rapid Disaster Management

President Prabowo Subianto expressed his high appreciation for the swift and coordinated response of all teams involved in handling the recent floods and landslides in Central Tapanuli regency, North Sumatra province.

The statement was delivered by the President after inspecting the main evacuation post and engaging directly with affected residents at the Pandan Sports Hall (GOR) on Monday (12/01).

“I would like to thank all parties, especially the various agencies that responded so quickly to provide assistance. The natural conditions are extremely challenging and have created significant difficulties. Many access routes remain cut off, but we are taking all possible measures to address the problems being faced,” the President said.

Addressing logistical constraints, including fuel supply disruptions in several areas, the President confirmed that proactive steps have been taken to expedite distribution.

“Fuel supply remains an issue, but large vessels are now able to dock at Sibolga Port to deliver additional logistical support. Furthermore, we are continuously deploying Hercules aircraft to ensure rapid transport,” he added.

The Head of State underscored the critical importance of strong inter-agency cooperation in managing the emergency situation. He reiterated his gratitude for the synergy demonstrated by the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), relevant ministries and institutions (including Public Works/PU), and regional governments (Pemda), all of whom are working tirelessly to accelerate on-the-ground recovery efforts.

“I would like to extend my gratitude to all agencies, the TNI, Polri, Public Works, relevant government bodies, and local administrations (Pemda), for their effective coordination.
