President Prabowo said that Indonesia is undergoing a major transformation amid global uncertainty. This transformation is done to actualize a modern, prosperous, and just Indonesia.
“We are undergoing transformation in economy, bureaucracy, education, food, and energy. This transformation aims to make Indonesia a modern, prosperous and just nation. It is a nation founded on the sovereignty of the people,” said the President.
The Head of State emphasized that stability and security are essential foundations for realizing national development. Therefore, the President said that Polri has a very strategic role in creating conditions that support economic growth, legal certainty, and public welfare.
“No strong nation exists without state officials who are trusted by the people, loyal to the people, and protect the people. Therefore, the police role is crucial, strategic, and essential,” he stated.
He further expressed appreciation to all members of Polri who carry out their duties in maintaining public order and security. According to the President, Polri, along with other Government institutions, continue to transform and reform to build a more trusted police force.
“I have also witnessed firsthand how Polri and other Government institutions continue to transform, reform, and work hard to build an excellent police force, as expected by the Indonesian people,” said the President.
He said that Polri has a unique character, born from the history of the independence struggle. Therefore, Polri is expected to always be at the heart of the community and present to address public issues.
“In our war of independence, the police took an active role and took part in the fighting. Therefore, Polri has the characteristic of always being among the people and must always defend the people and feel the people’s suffering,” said the President.
In his address, the President also appreciated the Polri’s involvement in various national strategic programs, including food security and disaster management, maintaining price stability, and supporting the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program.
“Polri is present in villages and at the borders. I see firsthand how the Polri’s food security program has significantly contributed to national food security, particularly in corn production. Polri has also built much-needed food warehouses,” he concluded.
