President Prabowo Subianto underlined that the Government is currently implementing a national transformation strategy based on the values of state ideology Pancasila.

The President made the statement during the 2026 Pancasila Day ceremony at the Pancasila Building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jakarta on Monday (06/01), adding that current developments are oriented not only toward advancement but also toward realizing the nation’s grand vision.

“We no longer want to focus solely on basic development; we now hold bolder aspirations. We are actively implementing a strategy for national transformation and will continue to do so. Our strategy is to anchor this transformation to a course that aligns with Pancasila,” he said while leading the ceremony.

President Prabowo further stated that the transformation is carried out through several strategic programs, including the downstreaming of natural resources, food security enhancement, village cooperatives and economies, and human resources quality improvement.

“We continue to provide free nutritious meals to build a healthy, excellent, and clever generation. We strengthen education, healthcare, and human development. We improve governance to prevent our nation’s wealth from continually draining and flowing abroad,” he said.

Nevertheless, the Head of State acknowledged that a major transformation will proceed with difficulty and face various challenges, underscoring the importance of courage in making the right decisions for the public interest and the nation’s future.

“We may face resistance from those who do not love our country, those who continuously attempt to weaken our country. However, a great nation must be courageous. We must have the courage to make the right decisions. Albeit difficult, we must be brave to defend our people,” he said.

The President also stressed that economic independence is a vital requirement for true independence, adding that Indonesia must be self-reliant and must not rely on other nations.

“There is no independent country without prosperity. We refuse to be a nation that relies on other nations. As our founding father Bung Karno once told us, we must be brave. Stand on our own two feet. That is the essence of a sovereign country,” he said.

Furthermore, the President stated that Pancasila has become a foundation that unites Indonesia despite its ethnic, linguistic, and cultural diversity, while urging everyone to continue to maintain and uphold Pancasila as a guide in the life of the people and the state.

“Indonesia will be a nation that is respected by others because of its prosperous people, a nation that grows strong because of unity, prosperous because of justice, great because of humanity. [Indonesia will be] a nation capable of becoming a driving force for world peace, a nation that never begs for help, a nation that helps other nations. Let us uphold Pancasila. Let us internalize Pancasila. Let us achieve a just, prosperous, sovereign, and revered Indonesia,” he remarked. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (DH/TM)
