Pancasila is the fundamental foundation of the nation, not merely a formal symbol or ceremonial mantra, according to President Prabowo Subianto.
“Pancasila is not merely a mantra or a slogan. The wealth our nation has is immense. That wealth must benefit all the people of Indonesia. All forms of misuse, all leakages must stop,” the President stated during the Commemoration Ceremony of Pancasila Day at the Pancasila Building, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jakarta (06/02).
The President also highlighted that the failure to implement Pancasila in the practice of governance is the root of many national problems, including corruption, abuse of power, and social inequality.
Therefore, he appealed to all public officials to uphold the noble values inherited from the nation’s founding fathers.
“Let us return to the values of Pancasila, the noble values of our nation’s independence struggle. Let us use this moment as an opportunity to improve ourselves, to reform our systems,” the President said.
On that occasion, the Head of State also called on younger generation to be at the forefront in upholding the values of Pancasila so that they remain alive and relevant, while expressing a strong belief that Indonesia will rise as a great nation if the people unite in the spirit of Pancasila.
“Let us ensure that Pancasila lives. Pancasila is not merely a mantra. We must not remain silent when our values are weakened. We must protect them, defend them, and carry them forward so our nation can advance,” the President remarked. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RI/EP)
