President Prabowo Pays Final Respects to General Ryamizard Ryacudu

President Prabowo Subianto pays his final respects to General Ryamizard Ryacudu, on Monday (6/1).

President Prabowo Subianto on Monday (6/1) at around 08:25 a.m. arrived at the Ministry of Defence for the funeral ceremony of General Ryamizard Ryacudu.

The President then proceeded to Ruang Hening, the room where he paid final respects to the deceased. In a solemn atmosphere, President Prabowo stood and prayed.

Vice Minister of Defense Donny Ermawan led the funeral ceremony at Bhinneka Tunggal Ika hall, a room where the deceased was laid to rest since the arrival at 07:35 a.m.

General Ryamizard Ryacudu passed away on Sunday (5/31). He was known as one of the brightest national military leaders, who also served as Chief of Staff of Indonesian Army from 2002 to 2005 and Minister of Defense from 2014 to 2019.

Following the last respects, the ceremony continued to a military burial at Kalibata National Heroes Cemetery. Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin led the military burial ceremony. This ceremony marked the nation’s respect for a soldier who dedicated his life to Indonesia. And President Prabowo’s presence symbolised the nation’s highest respect for the deceased.
