President Prabowo Performs Eid Prayer, Meets Public at Aceh Tamiang Regency

President Prabowo Subianto performs the Eid prayer at Darussalam Mosque, Aceh Tamiang regency, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam province, Saturday (03/21).

President Prabowo Subianto Saturday (03/21) performed the Eid al-Fitr prayer 1447 Hijri alongside approximately 1,300 people at Darussalam Mosque, located in a temporary housing area in Aceh Tamiang regency, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam province.

The prayer began at 07:30 a.m. local time, led by Tengku Junaidi and followed by Zulkhaizir who served as the khatib (preacher).

Zulkhaizir delivered a sermon titled “The Eid al-Fitr as a Momentum to Unite Hearts and Strengthen the Nation in Faith and Piety (in Post-Disaster Context).” In his sermon, the khatib called on people to use Eid as a moment to rise from grief, strengthen patience, and trust in God amid the adversity, and draw lessons from every circumstances.

The khatib also underscored the importance of reinforcing social bonds and community ties as a source of strength during the post-disaster recovery period, while encouraging prayer and seeking forgiveness as spiritual support in overcoming hardship.

After the prayer, President Prabowo met the people at Darussalam Mosque and greeted them in a warm and communal atmosphere. The occasion served to foster closer ties between the Government and the public.

At the same event, symbolic aid, which consisted of prayer equipment, copies of the Qur’an, and clothing, was distributed to representatives of local residents. The Government also provided around 7,000 packages of staple food to residents of the temporary housing area and nearby communities.

The President’s presence in Aceh Tamiang on the festive day was described as more than symbolic, reflecting the state’s commitment to providing support and assistance to its citizens and ensuring that they do not face difficult times alone. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (GWH/TM)
