President Prabowo Subianto welcomed the arrival of King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Indonesia on Friday, November 14, 2025, underscoring the strong relationship between the two countries. The arrival of King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein in Indonesia was for a state visit that would last for two days, from November 14 to November 15, 2025.

As a gesture of honor, the state aircraft carrying King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein was escorted by seven F-16 fighter jets and three T-50 fighter jets of the Indonesian Air Force as it entered Indonesian airspace, specifically over the airspace of Pekanbaru, Riau Province. The aircraft carrying King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein landed at around 16.00 Western Indonesia Time at Halim Perdanakusuma Airbase, Jakarta.

The personal welcome by President Prabowo at the bottom of the aircraft stairs demonstrated a state honor that reflected Indonesia’s closeness and respect toward Jordan. The two appeared to smile warmly and embraced tightly before jointly paying respect to the flags of both countries.

Afterward, the two leaders walked side by side past the honor guard, accompanied by instrumental music from the military band and six ceremonial cannon salutes. Also present to welcome the King of Jordan were Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Minister of State Secretariat Prasetyo Hadi, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Jordan to Indonesia Sudqi Al Omoush, and the Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung.

The welcoming atmosphere grew even more festive with a performance of the newly choreographed rampak none, a Betawi traditional dance, as a symbol of hospitality and the rich cultural heritage of Nusantara. King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein appeared to enjoy and appreciate the dance performance.

After the welcoming ceremony, President Prabowo and King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein proceeded together to Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, using the same vehicle. Their togetherness throughout the airport welcoming procession reflected a warm and mutually respectful personal relationship between the two leaders.

This state visit is expected to further strengthen the strategic cooperation between the two countries in various fields. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1951, Jordan has become one of Indonesia’s important partners both in the region and globally.
