President Prabowo, President Lee of the Republic of Korea Discuss Strengthening of Strategic Partnership

President Prabowo Subianto received a phone call from President of the Republic of Korea H.E. Lee Jae-myung on Monday (06/23). The phone conversation of both state leaders has become an important momentum in strengthening bilateral relations that have been established between Indonesia and the Republic of Korea.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that in the phone conversation, President Lee expressed appreciation for President Prabowo’s attention and congratulations on his victory in the general election held on June 3, 2025.

“President Lee expressed gratitude for President Prabowo’s letter of congratulations on President Lee’s victory in the presidential general election held on June 3, 2025, and his inauguration on the day after,” Cabinet Secretary Teddy said in his statement on Tuesday (06/24).

According to Cabinet Secretary Teddy, President Lee also expressed his intention to conduct a state visit to Indonesia. Additionally, both heads of state also had a discussion on the current global situation.

“Both state leaders also shared views on the current global situation, and they agree to continue and strengthen the partnership of both countries,” Cabinet Secretary Teddy said.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy explained further that the Republic of Korea is one of Indonesia’s major partners in trade and investment sectors. Up to now, the bilateral cooperation between the two countries has continuously shown very positive development.

“The Republic of Korea is one of Indonesia’s major partners in trade and investment, in which the bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and the Republic of Korea continues to show very significant development,” Cabinet Secretary Teddy remarked.
