The central government has implemented swift measures for post-disaster recovery across Aceh province, including Aceh Tamiang regency, according to President Prabowo Subianto.

President Prabowo stated that the government continues to take steps to fulfill various basic needs of the affected communities.

“God willing, together we will improve this situation. The government will step in and provide assistance,” the President said at the evacuation post near the Aceh Tamiang Bridge, Aceh, on Friday (12/12).

The President conveyed his apology for any delay in the delivery of services or assistance. One of the challenges, according to the President, is the difficult conditions on the ground.

“We are doing our best. Perhaps electricity has not yet been fully restored, has it? We are taking all necessary measures. We are aware that conditions on the ground are very difficult. The situation is challenging, but we will overcome them together,” he said.

President Prabowo also encouraged community members to remain patient and maintain their spirit throughout the recovery process. The President expressed hope that residents’ activities, including teaching and learning activities for children, could soon return to normal.

“I hope that recovery will proceed quickly and the situation will return to normal. I hope that children will remain resilient and strong. We will recover swiftly so that all children can continue their schooling as soon as possible,” he added.

In his remarks, President Prabowo also highlighted the importance of vigilance in facing potential disasters, as well as the urgency for improvements in environmental and spatial management. The President instructed all parties, especially regional governments, to strengthen controls over activities that could potentially harm the environment.

“We must not cut down trees indiscriminately. I instruct all regional governments to be more vigilant and alert. Let us protect our environment as best as we can,” the President remarked.
