President Prabowo Receives State Welcome at Élysée Palace before Meeting President Macron
President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto arrives at the Élysée Palace, Paris, France for a state visit on Thursday (05/28).
President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto Thursday (05/28) arrived at the Élysée Palace, Paris, France for a state visit, marking the series of visit with President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron.
As his motorcade traveled from Les Invalides to the Élysée Palace, President Prabowo received an honorary escort from 27 motorcycle officers and 146 cavalry troops of the French Republic. The welcoming ceremony reflected honor by the French Government to visiting heads of state from friendly nations and symbolized the close ties between Indonesia and France.
Upon arriving at Élysée Palace, President Prabowo was welcomed by a guard of honor, accompanied by military music. He was subsequently welcomed by President Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron, followed by a group photo session before the two leaders commenced their official meeting.
President Prabowo and President Macron are slated to hold a joint press statement, bilateral meeting, and a tête-à-tête, aiming at strengthening Indonesia and France strategic partnership in various fields.
“Today, I will discuss several strategic issues, cooperation in defense sector, hold a joint press statement, bilateral meeting between both countries, and a tête-à-tête to strengthen Indonesia-France strategic cooperation in various fields,” President Prabowo said.
During the bilateral meeting, President Prabowo was accompanied by several ministers and high-level officials, including Foreign Minister Sugiono, Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Indonesia’s Ambassador to the French Republic Mohamad Oemar.
