President Prabowo Subianto reaffirmed his commitment to accelerating the realization of an independent and prosperous Indonesia through hard work across strategic sectors.

He made the statement on the mass harvest event in Malang regency, East Java province, Friday (07/17).

In his remarks, President Prabowo expressed appreciation to the entire government, the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI), the National Police (Polri), and other stakeholders, whom he said had worked hard to speed up the implementation of national priority programs. According to him, this spirit of hard work was born from the awareness that the Indonesian people have long endured conditions that do not reflect the country’s vast potential and abundant resources.

“I am proud today, and I have been proud over the past few weeks. I see the hard work of all elements, including the ministers, the TNI Commander, the Police Chief, and all elements who are working swiftly, without rest. We realize that our people have experienced a life that is unworthy of a great and wealthy nation like ours for too long. For that reason, my administration is determined to do our very best to achieve the highest goals as quickly as possible. We do not want to become a relaxed nation. We will prove to the world that the Indonesian nation is rising with our own strength,” the President said.

President Prabowo also called on all elements of the nation to strengthen unity in managing and safeguarding national wealth so that its benefits can be felt as widely as possible by the people. He stressed that solidarity is the key to overcoming various challenges in building a more advanced Indonesia.

“All elements must work hand in hand. I call on everyone to unite for our nation and our people. Unite for our children and grandchildren. Unite to safeguard and reclaim all the wealth of the Indonesian nation so that our people can enjoy that wealth,” the President said.

On that occasion, the President also underlined the Government’s firm stance against any abuse of authority or actions that harm the public interest. According to him, state officials entrusted by the people must work fully for the benefit of the nation, not the other way around.

“We will not tolerate those who have been trusted by the people, who are paid by the people, but carry out policies and actions that harm the people. Especially those who steal the people’s money. We will not tolerate it. I will not tolerate it. As President, entrusted by the people, I will not hesitate,” he emphasized.

He further said that the target of food self-sufficiency has now been achieved. The Government is now focusing on accelerating energy self-sufficiency, building water resilience, and taking action against various illegal activities that harm the state, ranging from smuggling to illegal mining, plantation, fisheries, and trade practices.

In addition, President Prabowo revealed that the Government will accelerate the national sugarcane replanting program. Based on Minister of Agriculture’s report, the program, which was initially targeted for completion in four years, is now being pursued to be completed in just two years. The President welcomed the optimism, while reminding all officials to maintain their health amid the intensity of their workload.

“He said, ‘Sir, we can do it in two years.’ But I said that is good, but do not end up hospitalized. You -promise me two years, but you must not be hospitalized. The country and the nation still need you. Ministers, generals, take care of your health. So we will accelerate all efforts, and we will work hard,” the President said.

He also stressed that accelerating development across various sectors is part of the Government’s determination to ensure that Indonesia’s wealth and potential are truly managed for the greatest prosperity of the people and to make Indonesia a more sovereign, independent, and respected nation in the world.
