President Prabowo Spends New Year’s Eve in South Tapanuli

The 2026 New Year’s Eve in Batu Hula village, Batang Toru district, South Tapanuli regency, was warm and special. President Prabowo celebrated it on Wednesday (12/31) with the people in the region amid post-disaster limitations.
The President’s presence in Kodam I/Bukit Barisan (Regional military command) health post had changed the atmosphere cheerfully. He was welcomed by a round of applause, big smiles, and children’s laughter without boundaries or certain protocols.
Without formality, President Prabowo greeted each person, shook their hands, and sat together while celebrating the 2026 New Year’s Eve. The moment had made people stronger during recovery. It also brought pure happiness and gave people certainty of the state’s presence amid post-disaster conditions.
Along with the people, the President was singing national songs, such as “Tanah Air” and “Rayuan Pulau Kelapa”. The sounds were echoing and uniting people. To the people, President Prabowo expressed optimism for a better 2026.
“Happy New Year 2026, let’s hope for the best time of the year,” said the President.
The end-of-year celebration in South Tapanuli was truly different. President Prabowo’s presence, children’s laughter, and the big smiles of disaster-affected people serve as a powerful reminder that the state is not distant, is always on the people’s side, and is present to stand alongside them through every hardship.
