President Prabowo Subianto Arrives in Jordan for State Visit

President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto on Tuesday (02/24), arrived at Marka Military Airport, Amman, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for a working visit.

Before the landing, Indonesian Presidential Aircraft received an honorary escort from F-16 fighter jets of the Royal Jordanian Air Force as it entered Jordanian airspace. The aerial escort served as a symbol of high respect from the Government of Jordan to President Prabowo and the people of Indonesia.

Upon arrival at the airport at 8 p.m. local time, President Prabowo was warmly welcomed by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, reflecting the close friendship between Indonesia and Jordan.

A number of Jordan’s high-ranking officials and honor guard also welcomed President Prabowo.

From the airport, President Prabowo proceeded directly to the hotel where he would stay in Amman. He is slated to hold a meeting with the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein on the following day.

For the record, this is President Prabowo’s second visit to Jordan and is expected to further strengthen strategic partnership between the two countries, particularly in the sectors of education, defense, agriculture, and regional issues in the Middle East.
