President Prabowo Subianto Attends PKB 28th Anniversary, Responds to “Prabowonomics” Theme as Implementation of Economic Mandate of Constitution
President Prabowo Subianto Thursday (07/23) attended the 28th anniversary celebration of the National Awakening Party (PKB) held at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC) in Jakarta.
The solemn event opened with the singing of the national anthem, Indonesia Raya, followed by the PKB March. It then continued with Quran recitation, a communal prayer, and the reading out of the Indonesian Ulema’s recommendations (Ijtima Ulama Indonesia) as part of efforts to strengthen the party’s moral and national direction in contributing to the nation’s journey.
Honoring religious scholars was also a key part of the commemoration. PKB Central Executive Board Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar presented awards to five representatives of the Kiai Khos (the honorable senior Islamic scholars) in recognition of their service, dedication, and contributions to PKB’s cause.
In his remarks, PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar said this year’s anniversary theme, “A New Direction for the Constitution’s Economic Mandate,” was shortened to “Prabowonomics.”
He added that the theme expresses both gratitude and PKB’s commitment to continue overseeing a new direction in the national economy, one that will make Indonesia an independent and resilient nation built on its own strengths.
“This theme reflects PKB’s gratitude and commitment to continue working together to bring a new direction to the national economy, so that Indonesia remains an independent and strong nation rooted in its own strengths. All of us at PKB are also inspired by the President’s enthusiasm and commitment to continue steering this new economic direction amid various geoeconomic and geopolitical challenges,” Muhaimin said.
President Prabowo Subianto also expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and said he was deeply happy and moved to attend the PKB anniversary celebration. He further thanked PKB for its support for the Government’s new direction in economic policy.
“I would like to express my respect and gratitude for the great honor of being invited to attend this event. I am truly happy and moved to be present this evening. I am also deeply touched that the National Awakening Party (PKB), on its anniversary, has so firmly expressed its support for the new direction of our economy,” the President said.
The President also responded to the term “Prabowonomics” used in PKB’s anniversary theme. He said that the direction of his economic agenda is not a personal idea, but an implementation of the ideals of the nation’s founders and the mandate of the Constitution.
“The firmness of my struggle, my conviction, is rooted in my belief in the ideals of our nation’s founders, the Proclamation of August 17, 1945, and our Constitution. I especially believe in Article 33 and Article 34 of the 1945 Constitution. My ideas are neither new nor extraordinary; they are simply an effort to uphold our Constitution,” the President said.
The Head of State also called on all elements of the nation to maintain unity and work together to achieve social justice through constitution-based economic development. He said Indonesia’s progress can only be achieved if all national forces unite to ensure that the nation’s wealth is managed optimally for the prosperity of the people, in accordance with the mandate of the nation’s founders, which must continue to be safeguarded and realized.
