President Prabowo Subianto Calls for National Solidarity in the Spirit of the Fire Horse
President Prabowo Subianto extends his congratulations to all people celebrating the Chinese New Year 2577 Kongzili or the Year of the Fire Horse.
President Prabowo Subianto extended his warm greetings to everyone celebrating the Chinese New Year 2577 Kongzili, marking the Year of the Fire Horse.
The Head of State emphasized that Chinese New Year celebration is not merely a religious or cultural tradition, but also an important occasion for the nation to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, unity, and the spirit of togetherness among all people.
“On my own behalf and on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, I would like to wish you a Happy Chinese New Year 2577, the Year of the Fire Horse. Gong Xi Fa Cai. The Chinese New Year is not merely a religious celebration, but also a momentum to strengthen our sense of nationhood, brotherhood, and unity,” said the Head of State in a video message on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel, Saturday (02/28).
The President also emphasized that this year’s Chinese New Year celebration, carrying the theme “Archipelagic Harmony of Chinese New Year”, reflects Indonesia’s identity as a great nation for its diversity, a strong nation for its unity, and a steadfast nation for its togetherness.
“This celebration is not only about showcasing traditions and culture, but also about highlighting the values of mutual cooperation, solidarity, and humanity,” he said.
This year’s Chinese New Year celebration, the President added, carries a deeper meaning as it coincides with the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
“This year, the Chinese New Year is celebrated alongside the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. This is the true face of Indonesia. Different, yet harmonious. Diverse, yet united in purpose,” the President stated.
The Head of State also expressed his appreciation for the 2026 Chinese New Year Festival, held in various regions across Indonesia, as a tangible expression of national harmony.
“This harmony thrives throughout the archipelago. It proves that Indonesian unity is not merely a slogan, but a living reality,” he said.
Concluding his remarks, President Prabowo Subianto expressed Indonesia’s hope to welcome the new year with optimism, courage, and determination to build a just, prosperous, and dignified nation.
