President Prabowo Subianto Monday (03/02) held a meeting with Coordinating Minister for Food Security Affairs, Zulkifli Hasan, at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.

The discussion focused on the Government’s preparations to ensure stable food supplies and prices during the holy month of Ramadhan and ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

After the meeting, Zulkifli stated that President Prabowo Subianto had issued a clear directive to ensure the availability and affordability of staple foods for the public.

“The Government will strictly monitor food supplies during the holy month of Ramadhan until the upcoming Eid al-Fitr,” he said.

According to Zulkifli, President Prabowo Subianto instructed the implementation of comprehensive on-the-ground oversight. The President also gave him specific directives to ensure that several Government priority programs are carried out optimally.

“The President instructed me to personally monitor several priority programs across Indonesia. I am tasked with ensuring the availability and affordability of food during Ramadhan and Eid Al-Fitr, as well as overseeing the proper implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program, the Red and White Village Cooperative, and waste management initiatives. Staple food must remain available and affordable during Ramadhan and Eid al-Fitr, with prices kept stable,” Zulkifli said.

With cross-sectoral oversight, the Government is ensuring smooth food distribution, stable prices, and the fulfillment of public needs across all regions of Indonesia. Food stability is not merely an economic agenda; it reflects the Government’s commitment to providing a sense of peace for the people as they observe worship during the holy month of Ramadhan and Eid Al-Fitr.

This meeting also reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to safeguarding national food security, overseeing the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program, strengthening the Red and White Village Cooperative, and ensuring sound environmental governance, including effective waste management, amid increased community activities during Ramadhan and Eid al-Fitr.
