President Prabowo Subianto Celebrates Indonesia’s Unity in Diversity at 2025 National Christmas

At the 2025 National Christmas celebration at Tennis Indoor Senayan, Jakarta on Monday (1/5), President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the event reaffirmed Indonesia’s identity as a diverse and great nation.

According to the President, Indonesia is a nation composed of diverse ethnic groups, races, religions, and cultures.

“We are a great nation. Some experts estimate that Indonesia is home to around 1,700 ethnic groups, each with its own regional languages. Across this Nusantara (Indonesia’s archipelago), our communities embrace different religions, yet we can unite and live as one nation, one “Nusa” (islands) with one language because we share the same purpose. We dream of a prosperous life together,” said the President.

The Head of State also emphasized that the Indonesia’s very existence is a manifestation of God’s will for which the nation must be grateful for. He added that no citizen can choose where they are born or the community into which they are born, yet from this destiny the Indonesian nation emerged and is now the fourth most populous country in the world.

“I am deeply grateful and proud to have the great honor of serving as President of such a vast country, the fourth most populous in the world. Our country is as expansive as Europe, which has 27 countries, while we are one country,” he said.

In his remarks, the President also called on all elements of the nation to be grateful for Indonesia’s peaceful situation amid a global environment marked by uncertainty and conflict in many regions. Although Indonesia, as a large nation, is not free from differences and competition, the President believes that, overall, the Indonesians are able to live in harmony, with mutual respect and love for one another.

“We understand that in a country as large as ours, disagreements, conflicts, feuds, and competition are inevitable. However, other nations are beginning to take notice of Indonesia, seeing that such a large nation can live in harmony, with mutual respect and love,” said President Prabowo.

On this occasion, President Prabowo Subianto also expressed his commitment, together with the members of the Red and White Cabinet, to continue working hard in service of the Indonesian people.

“Therefore, my ministers and I are working very hard,” he added.
