President Prabowo Subianto Concludes European Working Visit to Advance National Development

Presiden Republik Indonesia Prabowo Subianto tiba kembali di Tanah Air usai merampungkan rangkaian lawatan luar negerinya ke tiga negara sahabat, yakni Inggris, Swiss, dan Prancis. President Prabowo Subianto (01/24) arrived at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in East Jakarta after concluding his working visit to the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and France.

The return of the President to the country marks the conclusion of a series of intensive diplomatic engagements that strengthened Indonesia’s standing on the global stage, while also securing tangible cooperation to support national development.

Upon arrival at 05.30 p.m. Western Indonesian Time, the President and his entourage were welcomed by Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) Gen. Agus Subiyanto, Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) Lieutenant General (ret.) Muhammad Herindra.

During his visit to the three countries, the Head of State attended several important agendas, such as bilateral meeting with Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Keir Starmer and King Charles III of the United Kingdom, as well as attended business and investment forum organized by Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom David Lammy.

The meeting with the UK Prime Minister generated several tangible results for the national interest, including strategic partnership agreement between Indonesia and the United Kingdom, investment commitment worth £4 billion from the United Kingdom, strategic cooperation in maritime sector, and cooperation to strengthen education sector.

In his remarks, President Prabowo Subianto affirmed that the United Kingdom is Indonesia’s important partner, given UK’s great competence in technology and finance.

According to the President, the partnership will pave the way for new opportunities for Indonesia to gain benefit from British technology and financial competencies through transfer of knowledge.

“I think both parties will be benefited from this partnership,” he said at the Lancaster House, London, the United Kingdom, on Tuesday (01/20).

After concluding UK working visit, the President headed to Davos in Switzerland to deliver a keynote speech at the 2026 World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting. In his remarks, the President revealed initiative in the economy implemented by the Indonesian Government during his first year of service as the President of Indonesia.

The Head of State also inked the charter of the Board of Peace, the international body headed by US President Donald Trump.

President Prabowo Subianto also recognized Indonesia’s involvement in this international body as a historical moment to promote global peace, particularly for the Palestinians.

“This is our historical moment. This is a chance to achieve peace in Gaza,” he said.

Before returning to Indonesia, the President also visited Paris, France to attend a private dinner held at the Élysée Palace, hosted by the French President Emmanuel Macron.

During the dinner, both leaders discussed initiatives to strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and France across various strategic sectors. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RAS/EP)
