President Prabowo Subianto Sunday (01/18) was warmly welcomed by several cabinet ministers, diplomats, students, and diaspora upon his arrival at the hotel, where he is staying during his work visit to London, England.

In a warm and friendly atmosphere, the President greeted each attendee and engaged in a discussion with some students about their studies.

The President’s presence left a strong impression and served as a source of inspiration and encouragement for the students.

One of postgraduate students, Alma from Merauke, Papua, who is pursuing a degree in Business Management at the University of Sussex, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to meet the President in person for the first time.

“This is a wonderful experience to meet Mr. President for the first time. He is very humble and greeted all of us warmly. It feels like children meeting their father while abroad. I am truly grateful,” said Alma.

She also noted that when the President greeted the students and asked about their studies, it was like a spirit booster.

She expressed hope that the President’s presence would further strengthen education as the foundation of the nation’s future.

“I hope education will play a key role in achieving Golden Indonesia by 2045. As part of the young generation from eastern Indonesia, I believe education provides invaluable experience for children like me. The President’s presence highlights how important education is,” Alma added.

Other students, Jovan, Dara, Adia, and Tessa, were also impressed with the President’s gesture to the Indonesian diaspora in London.

“Honestly, we were impressed by his modesty. He greeted all of us, from the Indonesian embassy staff to students; we were excited. He kindly acknowledged our welcome,” they said.

They also expressed hope for strengthening future education partnerships between Indonesia and England, particularly with its leading universities.

In addition to the education sector, they also expressed hope that President Prabowo Subianto’s administration would bring improvement in various sectors.

“Not only in education, but also in health and job creation. We wish them success,” they continued.

Meanwhile, Azka, a third-year engineering student at the University of Oxford, also said he was grateful for the opportunity to meet the President in London. He expressed hope that he could one day contribute to Indonesia through his knowledge in science and technology.

“I hope to use my knowledge to contribute to Indonesia, in the development of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics),” he said.
