President Prabowo Subianto hosted the first state dinner at the State Palace Jakarta for fellow country leaders who had attended the presidential inauguration, on Sunday (21/10). During the event, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei Darussalam and President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. of the Philippines sat on President Prabowo’s left and right sides. The President then delivered his remarks in English, which emphasized democracy in Indonesia.
“We are only recently experiencing constitutional democracy. We still have to learn a lot. We realize that we have to improve all services and all execution of the ideal of democracy. Indonesia would like to be the best of neighbours, the best of partners to work together for the common good, common peace, common prosperity,” the President remarked.
He also led a toasting procession. “Let us drink to world peace, to the common good for all of people. Peace, prosperity for all the people of the world,” the President remarked. (FID/ABD) (GA/MUR)
