President Prabowo Subianto Inaugurates Governor and Deputy Governor of URI

President Prabowo Subianto Wednesday (07/22) at the State Palace, Jakarta inaugurated Donny Ermawan Taufanto as Governor of the University of the Republic of Indonesia (Universitas Republik Indonesia/URI) and Yos Sunitiyoso as his deputy governor.

URI is a new government-backed institution focused on leadership and national development.

The inauguration was carried out based on Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 80/P of 2026 on the Appointment of the Governor and Deputy Governor of the University of the Republic of Indonesia.

On that occasion, the President also administered the oath of office to the newly appointed governor and deputy governor, affirming their commitment to carry out their mandates with full responsibility and integrity.

“I swear that I will remain faithful to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and carry out all laws and regulations in the utmost just manner, in service to the nation and the state,” the oath reads.

The inauguration was followed by the signing of the official minutes and concluded with President Prabowo Subianto, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming, and the invited guests extending their congratulations to the newly-inaugurated officials.

Also in attendance at the inauguration were heads of state institutions, ministers of the Red and White Cabinet, Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) Agus Subiyanto, Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and Attorney General ST Burhanuddin.
