President Prabowo Subianto: Indonesian Market Must be Enjoyed by Indonesian People

President Prabowo delivers his remarks at the opening of the 18th National Congress of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) in Bandar Lampung city, Lampung province, on Wednesday (06/10).
President Prabowo Subianto asserted that the Government is unwaveringly committed to implementing several strategic programs aimed at strengthening the national autonomy and boosting the national economy. The President conveyed this commitment in his remarks at the opening of the 18th National Congress of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) in Bandar Lampung city, Lampung province, on Wednesday (06/10).
On this occasion, one of the Head of State’s key messages to HIPMI members was that the Government is striving to create a healthy and conducive business climate through consistent law enforcement. According to the President, legal certainty is a crucial factor in supporting the business and investment sectors.
“You are the ones who will create jobs; subsequently, the Government must establish a favorable environment for entrepreneurs. Part of it, including the law enforcement,” stated the President.
The President further stated that Indonesia has now achieved food self-sufficiency amidst an increasingly complex global situation. According to the Head of State, Indonesia holds significant force to face future challenges, including global climate challenges.
“Many countries are currently in the panic state [as] they are struggling to secure food. The United Nations has warned about [the possibility of] famine this year. Alhamdulillah, we stand strong,” declared the President.
In the energy sector, the President affirmed that the Government is working hard to realize national energy self-sufficiency. He expressed optimism that Indonesia will achieve stronger energy security within the next few years.
“Based on our calculations, we will be exceedingly strong in the energy sector in three years,” said the President.
Furthermore, the President underscored that the Government would continue to promote industrialization through downstreaming. According to the President, this effort is made to open opportunities for Indonesians to dominate the domestic market and strengthen national industrial sovereignty.
“This is an opportunity for young entrepreneurs to rise. We do not want to just be a market for another nation. We want the Indonesian market to be enjoyed by Indonesian people,” said the President.
On this occasion, the President invited young entrepreneurs to play an active role in national development by upholding the spirit of nationalism, mutual cooperation (gotong royong), and legal obedience.
“Young people and young leaders, build a positive culture, one that is nationalist yet collaborative,” concluded the President. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (NST/MMB)
