Indonesia’s immense potential is yielding tangible results across various strategic sectors. According to the President, amid global challenges filled with uncertainty, Indonesia has successfully maintained economic [stability] while accelerating development in several sectors.

“Yesterday, we successfully began production [and] development of one of the largest gas blocks in our region after 28 years of stagnation. We revived it. Prior to that, we succeeded in becoming the first country in the world to produce B50. We now produce diesel fuel from palm oil,” stated the President during his remarks at the Simultaneous Mass Harvest Event at Abdulrachman Saleh Air Force Base, Malang regency, East Java province on Friday (07/17).

He further reaffirmed that the successful production of B50 has had a tangible impact on the national economy by reducing diesel fuel imports. In addition, the President revealed further steps to strengthen energy independence through the development of bioethanol-based fuels.

“Earlier, the officials mentioned that we could reach E20, but it requires processing plants. [However], we [currently] only have one plant. So, I decided that we will build at least 30 plants. If necessary, up to 50 plants. [As we know], India already [has produced] E20 and Brazil already [has produced] E100. Why cannot Indonesia do it? I believe Indonesia could do it, right? We can. Yes, Indonesia can do it,” he continued.

In addition to energy sector, the President also expressed his great optimism regarding the capabilities of the national industry. In the near term, the Government will launch a national electric motorcycle as part of efforts to build a domestic automotive industrial ecosystem.

“We will have motorbikes and cars made by [our nation],” he affirmed.

The President further highlighted the successful development of the national defense industry, whose products are now widely used by the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri). As per stated by President, this success also reflected in the achievements of Indonesian soldiers who won international shooting competitions using domestically produced weaponry.

“[We] won 12 consecutive matches that rules made by them [the organizer-ed]. The referee and techniques are also theirs. But we won 12 times using weapons made by Indonesian youth. Our assault rifles, pistols, and automatic rifles made by us,” he elaborated.

Driven by this optimism, the President also encouraged all citizens to foster a spirit of nation-building. Through hard work, good leadership, and the courage to leverage its own potential, the President expressed conviction that Indonesia possesses all the capital necessary to become a prosperous nation.

“We are optimistic; we set our goals as high as the sky that Indonesia will become a prosperous country. We no longer want to be taken as fools. We were friendly yet called weak. We were kind yet called foolish. Enough is enough. We [will still be] friendly to those who wish to visit Indonesia. We welcome them and [so far,] many foreigners enjoyed it. We are a hospitable nation but now we intend to be a nation that rises,” concluded the President. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (NST/LW)
