President Prabowo Subianto Saturday (07/12) arrived at Brussels Airport, marking the start of his state visit to Belgium as part of his series of diplomatic engagements across the European region.

Upon arrival at Brussels Airport, the President was officially welcomed by Director General for Asia and Oceania François Delhaye, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Belgium Andri Hadi, and Defense Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Den Haag Naval Colonel (P) Rikrik Permady Sobana.

In Brussels, the capital of Belgium, the President is scheduled to hold high-level meetings with key European Union leaders, including President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and President of the European Council Antonio Costa. These meetings will focus on strengthening the strategic partnership between Indonesia and the European Union.

The President is also scheduled to meet with King Philippe of Belgium at the Laeken Palace – a strategic diplomatic engagement aimed at enhancing bilateral relations and exploring opportunities for constructive cooperation between Indonesia and Belgium across various fields.

Overall, the working visit to Belgium represents a strategic diplomatic effort by the Indonesian Government to assert its role in addressing global challenges and issues. (BPMI) (EST/EP)
