The Indonesian Government Wednesday (07/23) officially launched the logo and theme for the 80th commemoration of Indonesian Independence Day at the State Palace, Central Jakarta.

Addressing the nation during the event, President Prabowo Subianto stated: “I invite all Indonesians to welcome and celebrate the Independence Day with enthusiasm, joy, and unity.”

According to the President, Independence Day should be more than just a mere ceremony.

“Let us take concrete actions, such as cleaning the neighborhoods, reducing waste and enhancing the beauty of our surroundings. On Independence Day, Indonesia should shine as a clean, beautiful, and proud nation,” he added.

The President also urged all Indonesians to use this moment as an opportunity to strengthen national unity and foster a spirit of togetherness.

“We may have our differences and we may compete with one another, but ultimately, we are brothers and sisters – a single nation: Indonesia. Let us proudly raise the Red and White flag at home, in schools, offices, and public spaces, or wherever we are. The red symbolizes the blood shed for our independence, while the white represents the purity of our souls,” he said.

In his closing remarks, the President reminded the public to begin appreciating the nation by valuing even the small, everyday things.

“As the democratically elected President of the Republic of Indonesia, I assure you that our future is bright. We will rise to become a developed, prosperous nation. We will rise to become a nation of greatness,” the President remarked. (BPMI Presidential Secretariat) (GWH/EP)
