President Prabowo Subianto Leads Regional Heads’ Inauguration Ceremony at Presidential Palace

President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated Governors, Deputy Governors, Regents, Deputy Regents, Mayors, and Deputy Mayors across Indonesia simultaneously for the period of 2025-2030 at the Jakarta Presidential Palace, Thursday (02/20).

The inauguration was a historical moment for the Indonesian Government, marking the first time a President inaugurated regional heads throughout the country all at once.

The inauguration of Governors and Deputy Governors was based on Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia (Keppres RI), read out by the Deputy for Administrative Affairs of Ministry of State Secretariat Nanik Purwanti. The two decrees were Keppres RI Number 15/P of 2025 and Number 24/P of 2025 on the Appointment of Governors and Deputy Governors for the 2025-2030 Period.

Meanwhile, the inauguration of Regents, Deputy Regents, Mayors, and Deputy Mayors was based on Decree of the Minister of Home Affairs (Kepmendagri), read out by the Secretary-General of Ministry of Home Affairs Tomsi Tohir. The decrees were Kepmendagri Number 100.2.1.3 – 221 of 2025 and Number 100.2.1.3 – 1719 of 2025 on the

Appointment of Elected Regional Heads and Deputy Regional Heads for Regencies and Cities from the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Elections for the 2025-2030 Period.

During the ceremony, President Prabowo led the oath of office for the newly appointed regional heads.

“I will fulfill my duties as governor, deputy governor, regent, deputy regent, mayor, and deputy mayor as well as I can and as justly as possible. I will uphold the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and implement all laws and regulations in the most honest manner, and dedicate myself to the people, the nation, and the state,” President Prabowo said, dictating the oath of office.

The inauguration continued with the signing of the official minutes by representatives of regional heads from each religion. The six representatives of regional heads were:
1. Governor of Lampung, Rahmat Mirzani Djausal, as the representative of Islam;
2. Governor of North Maluku, Sherly Tjoanda, as the representative of Protestant Christianity;
3. Mayor of Singkawang, Tjhai Chui Mie, as the representative of Buddhism;
4. Regent of Merauke, Yosep Gebze, as the representative of Catholicism;
5. Regent of Karangasem, I Gusti Putu Parwata, as the representative of Hinduism; and
6. Mayor of Manado, Andrei Angouw, as the representative of Confucianism.
