President Prabowo Subianto has once again emphasized that the prosperity of the Indonesian people can only be achieved if natural resource management is carried out in accordance with the mandate of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, particularly Article 33.

He also noted that Indonesia is blessed with abundant natural wealth, making the nation’s main challenge today how to manage these resources optimally for the welfare of its people.

“Since ancient times, our archipelago has been visited because of its wealth. Foreign nations used to sail here for months, not for tourism, but to seek riches, and that remains true today. Therefore, my friends, our challenge is to manage all of this wealth as well as possible, as intelligently as possible,” the President stated in his remarks at the opening of the 18th National Conference (Munas) of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) in Bandar Lampung, Lampung Province, Wednesday (06/10).

The President emphasized that sectors of production that are vital to the nation and directly affect the livelihoods of many people must be under state control, as mandated by the Constitution.

“Ladies and gentlemen, sectors of production that are vital to the nation and that affect the livelihoods of many people must be controlled by the state. This is Indonesian; it does not need to be interpreted or translated; it must be implemented,” the President stated.

The Head of State also underscored the importance of managing the country’s natural resources in a way that maximizes their economic benefits for the Indonesian people. He also stressed that the proceeds from natural resource management should become capital for national development and a means to strengthen public welfare.

“We fought for our independence under this Constitution, and logically, this is our wealth. How can our wealth be processed, extracted, and sold abroad without the proceeds being kept in Indonesia?” the President said.

The Head of State also expressed his optimism about Indonesia’s future. The President believes that Indonesia has a strong opportunity to become a prosperous nation, provided it manages its national wealth and potential appropriately.

President Prabowo Subianto also emphasized that unity, collaboration, and the spirit of mutual cooperation are crucial to realizing a prosperous community life.

“The people understand best. The people understand that to live a good life, there must be harmony. What must there be? There must be community. There must be cooperation. There must be mutual support, not mutual attacks. But our elite are becoming smarter,” the President concluded. (Bureau of Press, Media, and Information of the Presidential Secretariat) (EP/LW)
