President Prabowo is warmly welcomed by Indonesian students and cadets studying at the National Defence Academy (NDA) Japan, at the hotel where he would stay in Tokyo, Japan, on Sunday (03/29).

Upon arriving at the hotel where he would stay in Tokyo on Sunday (03/09), President Prabowo Subianto was warmly welcomed not only by the Indonesian diaspora but also by Indonesian students and cadets studying at the National Defense Academy (NDA) Japan.

For the Indonesian diaspora as well as the students and the cadets, the event was not only a rare opportunity but also a great honor to meet the Head of State in person.

Second Lieutenant Engineer Farel Octandria, a 2025 graduate of the Indonesian Air Force Academy who is currently pursuing an undergraduate study at NDA on an overseas scholarship program, said he felt deeply proud.

“We are very proud and delighted to meet Mr. President. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and a great honor for us,” he said.

Farel also had the chance to interact directly with the President in a warm and friendly atmosphere. He also expressed his appreciation and expressed hope that the NDA scholarship program would continue in the future.

“I’d like to thank the President, whose support has allowed this NDA scholarship to continue. We hope this program will keep benefiting our juniors in the future. Thank you, Sir,” he stated.

Echoing this sentiment, Second Lieutenant (Navy Officer) Dhani Fathurrachman, an earth and oceanography student, also expressed his pride and noted that the President held a dialogue with the cadets about their education.

“The President also encouraged us to keep learning, stay enthusiastic, and uphold Indonesia’s honor wherever we are,” he added.

Second Lieutenant (Air Defense Artillery) Irsyad Farhan Mahendra, speaking on behalf of the army cadets, stated that the President’s remarks served as a strong source of motivation for them. He also spoke about the challenges he faces while studying in Japan. Even so, Irsyad said he remains optimistic about the future once he completes his education.

“I hope to apply everything I have learned to Indonesia’s progress and development,” he said.

The brief meeting between the President and the cadets strengthened the spirit of Indonesian youth on the global stage, inspiring them to keep learning, striving, and proudly representing the nation abroad. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (FI/EP)
