President Prabowo Subianto Meets President Macron to Strengthen Indonesia-France Strategic Partnership

President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto meets with President of the Republic of France Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace in Paris on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.

President Prabowo Subianto furthered his diplomatic agenda with a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace in Paris, Tuesday (04/14).

The President was formally welcomed by President Emmanuel Macron and an honor guard upon his arrival at the Élysée Palace.

The French Guard of Honor presented a military salute, symbolizing friendship and the high esteem accorded to President of the Republic of Indonesia.

In a warm and cordial atmosphere, the two leaders shook hands and exchanged a few words before proceeding to the main agenda.

President Prabowo Subianto and President Macron then moved to the Les Salon des Portraits for a private tête-à-tête.

The one-on-one meeting served as a strategic forum for the two leaders to discuss efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation across key sectors and to exchange views on current global developments.

The agenda continued with an official luncheon, part of the high-level diplomatic effort to foster personal rapport between the two leaders and reinforce the foundations of the partnership between Indonesia and France.

The visit marks a significant step in President Prabowo Subianto’s ongoing diplomatic efforts, following his recent intensive talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Through these engagements, Indonesia reaffirms its commitment to serving as an active strategic partner in promoting international cooperation, global stability, and world peace.
