President Prabowo Subianto Meets Russian Security Council Secretary

President Prabowo Subianto Tuesday (02/25) welcomed a courtesy call from Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Sergei K. Shoigu, at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.

The meeting marked a significant step in strengthening the bilateral ties between Indonesia and Russia, particularly in the areas of security and defense.

Shoigu arrived at Merdeka Palace around 12:30 PM Western Indonesian Time, where he was greeted with an official honor guard. Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi and Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) Commander General Agus Subiyanto were also present to welcome the Russian delegates.

President Prabowo greeted Shoigu on the palace terrace before the two leaders proceeded to the credential room.

On that occasion, the two leaders shook hands and posed for a photo, symbolizing the strong cooperation between the two nations. Both leaders then engaged in a productive discussion in the President’s office, addressing strategic matters concerning bilateral relations and regional security.

Following the meeting, President Subianto and Shoigu introduced their respective delegates. The Indonesian delegation included Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Head of the National Intelligence Agency M. Herindra, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arrmanatha Nasir, and Head of the Defense Facilities Agency (Baranahan) Air Marshal Yusuf Jauhari.

The visit concluded with a joint luncheon at the Presidential Lounge, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in defense and regional stability.
