During his state visit to Peru, President Prabowo Subianto received a courtesy call from Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Lima, the capital of Peru, Thursday (11/14).

President Prabowo Subianto welcomed PM Albanese at the hotel lobby at 09.25 a.m. local time. Both leaders exchanged greetings before heading to a restaurant for a breakfast meeting.

In that meeting, the President extended his appreciation for Australia’s support by sending the Deputy Prime Minister to attend his inauguration.

On the occasion, PM Albanese extended his congratulations for President Prabowo’s inauguration.

“Thank you so much for the invitation to meet you this morning. I once again congratulate you on your election,” he said.

This breakfast meeting served as an important moment for both leaders to discuss various strategic issues regarding Indonesia-Australia’s bilateral relations, and to enhance multiple partnerships. This moment is also expected to strengthen the foundation of diplomatic relations and foster a closer strategic cooperation between Indonesia and Australia in the upcoming years.
