President Prabowo Subianto has emphasized the Government’s commitment to continuing its national industrial downstream strategy to strengthen Indonesia’s economic development.

He cited the first export of electric vehicle batteries as evidence of the policy’s continued implementation.

“The first export of electric vehicle batteries marks a significant step and provides tangible evidence of our downstream strategy. We will therefore continue to implement this strategy as effectively as possible,” said the President in his remarks at the Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP) in Central Halmahera regency, North Maluku province, Thursday (10/08).

On that occasion, the President also commended the companies for demonstrating leadership, good governance, and responsibility in their industrial operations. He also highlighted their efforts to support and empower communities surrounding the industrial area.

“I appreciate the leadership, management, and sense of responsibility demonstrated by the companies in this area. I can see that you are providing valuable support to local residents. These efforts must be supported and continued,” he said.

The President also stressed the importance of environmental sustainability and safety in all operations, adding that industrial advancement must go hand in hand with responsible waste management.

“We will preserve the quality of our water and air. Pay close attention to proper waste management. Let us build a better future with a deep sense of responsibility toward our children and grandchildren,” he stated.

The Head of State also emphasized that the progress in national industrial development reflects a long process built on contributions from previous administrations. He also expressed his appreciation to all those who have worked hard to realize the nation’s development aspirations.

“Thank you to everyone who has worked hard to bring us closer to our goals. Let me also remind you of an adage from our predecessors: the closer we come to realizing our aspirations, the greater the challenges ahead. However, we are accustomed to facing challenges and we have the courage to confront them,” he concluded. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (JAS/MEP)
