President Prabowo Subianto attended the commemoration of International Workers’ Day held at the National Monument (Monas) area, in Jakarta, Friday (05/01). Since dawn, the Monas area had been filled with around 400,000 workers from various regions, who gathered to voice their aspirations while celebrating the spirit of labor solidarity.

The Head of State, who arrived through the southwest gate of Monas, was greeted with loud cheers from the workers crowding the area. Applause, chants, and the waving of trade union flags created an atmosphere charged with energy and hope.

On the main stage, President Prabowo waved to the crowd in appreciation of the workers’ enthusiasm and spirit. The International Workers’ Day commemoration then officially began with the singing of the national anthem, Indonesia Raya.

In his remarks, President Prabowo expressed his appreciation for the invitation extended to him to attend the occasion. “Today is a day of struggle for workers. I would like to thank you for inviting me to be here with all of you. It is an honor for me,” he said.

According to the President, support from various segments of society, including workers, farmers, fishermen, and laborers, forms one of the foundations of his leadership. He also reaffirmed his commitment to continue dedicating himself to the interests of the people.

“I am determined, I pledge to fight for the interests of all Indonesians, especially those whose lives remain difficult,” he stated.

Furthermore, the President emphasized that safeguarding the interests of the people is foremost duty of his administration. He assured that all ranks of the government share the same resolve and will not hesitate to defend the interests of the Indonesian people.

“That is our resolve. We will stand firm, we will not give up, and we will not hesitate to stand up for the interests of the Indonesian people,” he continued.

This year’s International Workers’ Day commemoration proceeded in an orderly, safe, and spirited manner, reflecting a strong sense of unity. President Prabowo’s presence among hundreds of thousands of workers served as a clear affirmation that the state is present to listen, to observe, and to stand with its people.
