President Prabowo Subianto arrived at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in East Jakarta at around 10:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB) on Saturday (05/30), following the completion of an official state visit to Paris, France.
On arrival, President Prabowo was welcomed by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming, Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Chief of Indonesian National Police Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Deputy Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces Gen. Tandyo Budi Revita.
During his visit to Paris, President Prabowo was received with a state ceremony at the Les Invalides complex and subsequently held a bilateral meeting with President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace, where they discussed a range of strategic issues and opportunities to enhance cooperation across sectors of mutual interest.
As part of efforts to deepen economic ties, Presidents Prabowo and President Macron attended the launch of the France–Indonesia High Level Business Council. The business forum brought together 30 leaders from leading industries and corporations of both countries with a combined market capitalization of approximately US$1.3 trillion. The council’s inauguration also produced four new commercial agreements worth US$3.5 billion, focusing on energy security, trade, and defense cooperation.
The state visit included a formal state banquet hosted by President Macron in the Salle des Fêtes at the Élysée Palace. The banquet symbolized the close friendship and growing partnership between Indonesia and France amid evolving global dynamics.
Amid the official program, President Prabowo performed Eid al-Adha prayers with the Indonesian community and diaspora in Paris, using the occasion to meet and engage directly with Indonesian nationals in France in a warm and communal setting.
The state visit formed part of Indonesia’s active diplomacy to expand its global partnerships, strengthen its presence in Europe, and unlock broader partnership opportunities in support of national interests and the welfare of the Indonesian people.
Also accompanied the President during the visit were Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (GWH/AW)
