President Prabowo Subianto Saturday (09/20) visited the Indonesian Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan.

His presence underscored the Government’s full support for Indonesia’s role in a global forum that highlights innovation, cultural heritage, and a vision for sustainability.

Expo 2025 Osaka, which brings together 158 participants, features the Indonesian Pavilion under the theme Thriving in Harmony – Nature, Culture, Future”.

The theme draws inspiration from Bali’s Tri Hita Karana philosophy, which emphasizes harmony among humanity, nature, and the divine.

Upon arrival, the President was welcomed into a pavilion whose architectural design resembles a grand ship, symbolizing Indonesia’s rich maritime heritage.

Constructed with sustainability at its core, the pavilion makes use of eco-friendly materials such as plana wood, processed from rice husk waste, and recycled plastic. It also employs energy-efficient lighting and cooling systems, reflecting Indonesia’s tangible commitment to balancing development with sustainability.

The Indonesian Pavilion is divided into four areas.

The “Nature” section showcases Indonesia’s extraordinary biodiversity through a miniature tropical forest and works by prominent artists. Visitors can also experience the “Nusantara Odyssey”, a cinematic journey across Indonesia’s geological wonders, marine wealth, forests, and cultural treasures.

The “Culture” area, titled The Resilience of Community,” celebrates the endurance of Indonesian traditions and craftsmanship. In this area, visitors are invited to explore Wajah Nusantara, a photography exhibition by Davy Linggar, alongside a collection of traditional heirloom weaponry, as well as video showcases of Indonesia’s martial arts and traditional blacksmithing.

In the “Future” section, visitors are invited to explore how local wisdom shapes Indonesia’s vision for the years ahead. A textile heritage installation, displayed across seven sails of a traditional Phinisi ship, symbolizes Indonesia’s enduring maritime legacy. Visitors are also treated to authentic Indonesian cuisine, offering a taste of the archipelago’s diverse flavors.

The pavilion attracts around 30,000 visitors daily, underscoring significant international enthusiasm for Indonesia’s cultural heritage and innovation.

During his visit, President Prabowo Subianto engaged with attendees and took in the rich diversity showcased within the pavilion.

With a projected total of between 2.8 and 3.5 million visitors throughout the event, the Indonesian Pavilion is expected to strengthen the nation’s image as a country rich in cultural heritage, natural resources, and sustainable innovation. (BPMI of the Presidential Secretariat) (AY/MEP)
